Hotel Cervantes - Paris, France     

The hotel is in the quiet neighborhood, close to the metro, restaurants, cinemas, etc. We had both the premium and a twin room, and did not had any problems with the noice at all. Rooms were clean, the staff really friendly and helpful, the breakfast excellent. I will definitelty stay here again next time.

Whilst the location was fantastic, the room we stayed in left much to be desired. The double room I had booked was tiny - the bathroom too, so much so that the door could only open so far before it hit the sink. The view from our window was of a high brick wall where the main SNCF trains ran to and from Gare St. Lazare at all times of the day and night. To say the trains were noisy is an understatement and prevented us from sleeping properly both nights. Speaking to other hotel guests, it seemed that only the rooms at the back of the hotel suffered from the noise of the trains. On the plus side, the room was clean, the hotel had internet access and included a lovely breakfast. The staff, however, were hit and miss - two of the receptionists were lovely, whilst one was rude, moody and unhelpful.
