Great deal at a great hotel in a great city Posted: Mon, Nov 23 2009

Spent 7 days there in May, 2009. Room was decent size (especially by European standards) and the bathroom was very nice (even including washcloths---which are often rare to find in France). Good location (~15 minute walk to the Arc' de Triomphe and Champ Elysee), pleasant staff, clean rooms and the hotel was even attached to a great, underground shopping mall that included a top-shelf grocery store and bakery. The hotel is even located next to the shuttle stop for the CDG Airport. We would definitely go back. If it had any drawback, it was that there was a charge to use the hotel's computer...but that's pretty trivial.
Recent stay, (October 2008). The day we checked in we were never notified our room would have no water for several hours. We found out the hard way (no shower-no toilet), Management never made attempts to remedy situation until we threatened to leave. Not worth it; stay somewhere else. There are plenty of hotels in Paris.
In all the hotels I've stayed in, this ranks among the worst. Rooms were small, but I guess that's normal for Paris. They seemed old however and the towels etc.. were just plain cheap. The check in staff was nice, and the lobby was nice. Beyond that it was a terrible experience. The food was way WAY over priced and I could take that in stride as I'm okay with splurging, but this food was truly disgusting. You'd think a $40 club sandwich would at least have real meat and not cheap processed slices that tasted like salmon. yick.
Business center was not a good experience either. The staff there seemed uninterested to assist and provided minimal assistance.
I would never stay here again. I would never recommend this hotel unless you got the room at a great rate and had no intention of eating or drinking anything there.
