We've stayed at the hotel on the weekend between 9-12/11/2006.
Before we booked it - we've read the terrible review here, and were very concerned about it - but we were pleasantly surprised!
The desk clerks were great and very helpful. The room was beautiful and pretty big, despite what was written here. The bathroom looked like it was very-recently renovated, and the breakfast was far-from-being-continental: fresh bread and croissants, muffins, boiled eggs and omletes, 4 different cornflakes, 4 different yogurts, fresh fruits, ham and sausages, jams, nutella, amantel cheese, coffee / chocolate / tea / orange and grapefruit juice etc. - a GREAT breakfast.
Overall - we were terrified booking it - and it was the greatast surprise paris gave us.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! :-)
this is a small, but nice hotel in the mainly residential musical area of paris. its only a short distance (maybe 5 minutes) from the metro. its only about 20 minutes from the Moulin rouge area. it is quiet and not very busy in the evening/night time. we did feel safe(contrary to what our taxi driver told us the area would be like). the hotel is small. we were in room 604 which was on the top floor. (dont be put off by your first impression using the lift!!!)
it was small. just enough for 2 people with small luggage. but it was very clean and we had a balcony which had AMAZING veiws of paris and sacre coeur. there is small supermarket and a few restaurants as we;; as an off licence. the breakfast was basic but nice. the staff were very, very nice and helpful. as we were leaving yesterday the rooms were being updated with lcd flat screen tv's. this is a great hotel for a couple wanting a base from which to visit paris in relative safety.
