A La Villa Saint Martin - Paris, France     

Conveniently located 1 city block from Gare de l'Est (for Metro lines everywhere in Paris, and indirect transit to/from CDG airport), it is nevertheless still offset on side street, away from nighttime noise. Wonderful front desk & breakfast room staff, all are enthusiastic and friendly, willing and able to speak french/english as you please. Can't say enough about their desire to oblige and make our 5 day visit in Paris perfect. Although the room was small, it was well-equipped, modern in its appointments, very well-designed, and spotless. Very nice breakfast buffet, with far more choices than in many US breakfast-included hotels. Our stay in Paris (for our 26th anniversary) was made very special largely due to the exceptionally caring staff, convenient location, and nicely-appointed accommodations at the VSM hotel.

We chose Villa Saint Martin for its location, very close to the metro and bus. The great staff was a bonus! I have never stayed in a hotel with such accommodating and friendly people. We speak very little french so it was nice to find that they spoke english. We will book a better room next time (we had a twin room). But our stay was great. The hotel is very clean, the view was nice from the 3 windows, and we even had a big flat screen TV. Breakfast was great to start the day, although we did have to wait awhile for a table one morning. The location was better than expected. Not only were we close to the metro (the week pass is easiest and cheapest) but there were plenty of restaraunts, bakeries and shops nearby. This hotel is a super value and I highly recommend it to tourists.
