We booked this hotel because of it's location; right across the street from Gare du Nord. It met our needs for the two nights we stayed, and there are several really nice restaurants very close nearby. Yes, it's a little worn, but you weren't expecting the Four Seasons, were you?

While the hotel rooms are small and look a little tired - and they are basically furnished - they provide the essentials of a place to stay while exploring Paris. The location is great - especially if you are coming into Paris via the train from the airport. The hotel is just across the street from Gare Du Nord and consequently you have easy access to two train lines and three subway lines; plus you are within a few blocks of Gare de L'Est; another train station with several metro lines. The hotel front desk staff is extremely helpful and friendly. One caution - if you are a light sleeper, this hotel may not be for you, as the street noise can be heard in the rooms, and there is a hospital nearby with emergency vehicles and their sirens running the streets.
