Hotel Aurore Montmartre - Paris, France     

I would not stay in this hotel again because the rooms are tiny even by Paris standards. The decor is dated and in bad need of refurbishment. The reception and lift are the smallest I have ever seen. The lift fits one person with luggage. When you get to the hotel room there is no room for your luggage anyway or anywhere to store clothes (see my photos)! The rooms were very warm and noisy if you get a street side one. The good point about this hotel is the location and the price. It is a good location to explore Montmartre and right beside the Place de Clichy metro station. But there are numerous hotels in the area that I would book ahead of the Aurore. We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and were due to stay for another four nights a week later but we cancelled it and booked the Ibis Montmartre just around the corner for a few euro more a night. The location is just as good and the rooms are twice the size. The hotel is also much more modern.

There was 11 of us. We needed somewhere cheap, cheerful, and central to stay at short notice and during the Rugby World Cup. We got lucky. This hotel did the job .. although the rooms were very hot!! The location was fabulous and the price (especially considering most of Paris was booked) was perfectly acceptable. Not somewhere I'd go for romance but with a group of people it was just fine!
