Residence La Concorde - Paris, France     

Pasamos en París un fin de semana "de poco presupuesto" y reservamos con la idea de "un sitio para dormir" y poco más. Pero fue una sorpresa muy agradable. Bien situado (sólo cogimos el metro para las excursiones más alejadas, el resto se puede hacer andando desde el hotel y volver a él en cualquier momento), con cercana estación de metro por lo que se puede llegar desde el aeropuerto sin problemas. Es un hotelito pequeño pero acogedor con todo lo necesario: incluso tenía nevera en la habitación. Muy limpio, nos dieron una habitación aguardillada. Para el que no espere un "gran hotel" (tampoco es ése su precio) se lo recomiendo vivamente.

1. Checking in - The reservation stated 12 noon but when we arrived at 130 pm we had to wait 20 minutes for our room to be ready. 2. Room of low quality - Old room, spoilt bedside light, dinghy bathroom with separate cubicle for toilet bowl, no clear instructions for using the safe, empty mini-bar fridge. 3. Room facing busy street - very noisy at night. 4. Taxi booking - My friend left a day before me and asked about taking a cab to Gare du Nord. The staff on duty offered to call for a cab, did so and told her the cab will be arriving in 7 minutes. She waited for nearly 20 minutes. When she asked him why the cab was taking so long, he shouted back at her. 5. Rude, unscrupulous manager during checking out - For the last night, the room was reserved as a double room for single use for 98 euros. When I wanted to check out, the manager tried to charge me 105 euros. Puzzled, I took out the booking print out and showed him it is 98. He claims it is not valid as it is booked under my friend who left the day before. We had explained to him the arrangement when we first arrived and he said no problem. Then he started to get upset and said in broken French and English that he will not accept my reservation the next time I want to stay there. And I told him: Fine, I will pay 105 euros but I will write a review about how bad the hotel service is. He grudgingly changed the invoice but not before cursing me in broken French and English saying I am "poor people".
