4.6If you are looking for a Sheraton or Hilton kind of hotel, La Demeure is not it. This is a small Parisian hotel, Parisian style, run by a few people, so it is with that in mind that you have to read the ratings I have provided. This being said, for a small Parisian hotel, it is truly excellent. Great location, air-conditioned rooms, modern bathrooms, nicely decorated and really nice and helpful and patient front desk people (where we really in Paris???). We stayed with four in one room, which is really exceptional in Paris (and in Europe in general): 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Granted, the pull-out sofa was not super comfortable, but hey, for two nights, it was more than sufficient and better than having to pay for two rooms... I paid 247 USD a night: that is steep, but then again, it is Paris, and in the middle of August, and three stars. I loved the location as well: very close to two metro's (one a major line 10 minutes to the city center) and walking distance from a rail way station (in case you want to visit Versaille). The area is very calm and not too touristy, so this was a welcome relief after spending all day in the busy, bustling, hectic center of Paris. For my next trip to Paris, I will certainly stay there again.
