Atelier Montparnasse Hotel address: 49 rue Vavin, Paris, 75006

Atelier Montparnasse Hotel details: A small, charming Parisian hotel located in the heart of the Montparnasse area; a place of artists and writers.

Not for from Luxembourg Garden for a morning jog, and Saint-Germain-des-Prés for shopping and walking, the hotel is well positioned. At famous brasseries La Coupole and Le Select, you can indulge in French cuisine.

The air conditioned hotel has a shuttle service to the airports and modern comforts. The bathrooms of the 17 rooms feature a mosaic, representing a famous painting. Each room has an artist’s name: Matisse, Picasso, Fujita or Gauguin for example. The Atelier Montparnasse family will gladly recommend typical Parisian places to visit.

We booked this room (No. 31 - Modigliani) through an online reservation service for 7-10 September. We were welcomed by name on our late night arrival, sent up the lift without our luggage and followed up by the gentleman at the desk and the baggage - as discribed in the review below. Around the corner - less than three minutes - is the metro stop Vavin on the number for line. The staircase is smaller than you are thinking right now - very efficient use of space! The room was facing the inner courtyard. No view and wonderfully, no noise at all. Beautiful wallpaper and beadspread. Excellent water pressure in the shower and bath. Comfortable bed and good air condtioning, with a refridgerator in the wardrobe. The flat screen TV is another efficient use of space in the small room. We did not have breakfast in the hotel, so cannot comment on that. The staff was lovely, every single person there was gracious and always helpful. We asked for a pharmacy and they searched for some headache tablets at the desk to tide us over until we found one. On departure, we asked if the woman at the desk would take our photograph and, she posed us and dimmed the lobby lights to make the picture "just right". Yes, we will return to Atelier Montparnasse.

This hotel served its purpose. It was a very small hotel and the rooms were very small. The lift could only fit 2 people in it and our lugage had to be sent up separately. However the rooms and lobby were very clean. The hotel had a good location with bars, restaurants and an underground station within 25m. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. I would stay at this hotel again with this buget.
