Great location for a short stay with the luxembourg u/ground station right across the street , which takes you to cdg without getting off. Room was good size ,as was the toilet. Latin quarter was 5 min . walk away . We stayed in room 203 which faced onto the back street which looked onto gardens. Would stay again .Also have a room to keep your luggage in if you have a late flight and still want to see some more of paris without lugging your cases around

We knew the area from previous visits to Paris, but not the hotel. It was definitely a find - nice service, pleasant (very clean) rooms and a brilliant location. The little "Loco" bar/cafe attached to the hotel was a real plus - a proper locals' place complete with families having Sunday lunch and Sorbonne students doing their homework over a coffee in the evening. Paris was surreally quiet due to the transport strike during our stay, but the absence of a metro or bus was not a problem - having Notre Dame, the Pantheon area , St Sulpice, Ile St Louis etc all within 20 minutes or so stroll, and the Luxembourg Gardens a strone's throw away can't be bad. The Bouillon Racine restaurant is as beautiful inside as everyone else says, but we were a wee bit disappointed by the food, possibly because the previous evening we'd been to Bofinger in Rue Bastille which was quite exceptional, with both brilliant food and service (the waiters even managed to persuade a brasserie of rather prim Parisians to serenade my wife with "Bonne Anniversaire a toi" whilst presenting her with a most impressive indoor firework!). We preferred the Polidor Restaurant on Rue Monsieur-le-Prince, terrific value simple menu and very atmospheric, complete with a cast of mainly taciturn Allo Allo extras making up the staff.
