2On arriving at hotel, initial impressions were favourable.
As soon as we got out of the lift to go to our room, the decoration appeared shabby. On going into the small room, it continued to be shabby. The room and bathroom were clean, but definitely need some decorating and new tiles. There were cracked tiles on floor and walls. The bath was a half bath, O.K. for midgets, but not for full sized people, which would have been alright if there had been a shower. There was a shower attachment to taps, but no shower curtain , so if one did use it, the water did not stay in bath!
There were no carpets in the room, corridors or stairs. Most surprising as this does help reduce noise. It was obvious what people were doing in their rooms when they were in them, as walls were thin!
Our room was quiet away from the street (it is a very lively area) as we were overlooking the courtyard. But I did feel sorry for people staying in rooms on the stairs, very noisy with passing people.
Breakfast was fine and the ladies were helpful.
The hotel was not far from Sacre Couer and there were plenty of places to eat in area.
Also not far to metro.
This was my third trip to Paris and have stayed in the area before.
These were 2 star hotels as well, but were much better decorated. I would not choose to stay at pavillon de montmatre again, although the top floor was being decorated, so prehaps things will improve.
