Dauphine Saint Germain - Paris, France     

We booked a superior double for 184 euros about 10 months in advance, room 54. The bed was quite large and the room had enough space for our gigantic suitcase and some smaller bags. The flatscreen tv and the fridge with drinks was an added bonus. The bathroom was as large as any at a hotel in the states. We didn't do the breakfast since it is twice the price of going to a nearby cafe. The people at the front desk all spoke English and were very nice, especially helping us arrange the Airport shuttle and calling when they were late. The one strange thing was having to leave our key at the front desk whenever we left the hotel, but maybe this is common in Paris. The location, near the river and all the action on the left bank, can't be beat!

We stayed here for 3 nights in February. The rooms were nice, decorated in a very traditional french style and were clean. They were not very big, but this is quite typical of Parisian hotels. The location was great as there are lots restaurants to choose from on the same street as the hotel and it is in walking distance of the Louvre. The Eiffel Tower is further away but there are buses which you can get up to it. We found the hotel staff to be helpful and gave us directions on our maps and advice on the best buses etc. Overall it is a nice hotel and very handy to a wide range of restaurants and the Louvre.
