Having read other reviews on this page I was slightly worried. But the hotel was brilliant! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly (especially when we spoke French to them - if you can do this they are great!). It was a bit dirty, the window was hard to open, and some things were broken or cracked, but the staff rectified all problems swiftly. You need to ask for a tray of tea, coffee, sugar and a kettle,(free) and you need to ask for a safe key (free) but again, these are provided willingly. The glass elevator and domed seating area were amazing. The location was superb - within walking distance of Louvre, metro stations, Galaries Lafayette, excellent restaurants, the Folies Bergere, and Montmartre. The breakfast (included in our package) was a buffet style: tea/coffe/chocolate, then choice of ham, cheese, egg, jam, croissant, baguette, pain-au-choc, toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, compote!!!!! Excellent value. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is very well located for everything. On Grand Bvld Metro, take Montmartre Exit then you won't be walking far to the hotel. The lobby is very spacious and cheerful due to its recent renovation. The staff are good and helpful but not necessary warm! The room is too small for two person - that two peroson would hardly have any space to turn around or put in more than one small suitcase under the desk. The furniture is very beaten and worn-out but not broken. The bathroom is very clean and has been modernized in room 317. It is a funcitional hotel in the heart of Paris for 99 Euro per night for single or double in the winter. There are plenty of cafes and bakeries in the neighborhood, there is also an Internet Cafe for 1 Euro an hour just two streets down on the right; while there is a small supermarket just one block on the right.

I realize the building is very old, but the first room we were given wasn't even as big as a closet. The carpet was so worn it had holes in it. The bathroom was so small we couldn't turn around. We complained and were put in the "best" room, which wasn't any better! There was no curtain on the shower. The bedding looked ancient, stains on the headboard of the bed. The room smelled moldy. The paper was peeling on the walls. Holes in the carpet. Doors that didn't shut and a deadbolt that had to be wiggled to make it work. It was supposed to be a 3 night stay, we left as soon as we could the next morning to find more suitable accomodations. We have stayed in other Best Westerns in the same area, within a few blocks, and had very satisfactory accomodations. This one was terrible.

Very nice hotel to be in. Top of 3 stars category, could be 4. The room (126) was very large, quiet, opening on an inner garden. Best qual/price ratio I had in Paris.
