The Holiday Inn Paris Opera is a pleasant hotel, very near all the peep shows and sex shops in Rue St Dennis - not that this is really a problem. Restaurant looks very smart and service is pleasant, but staff tried to be helpful in English but in fact served some of the wrong dishes - and it turned out to be rather an expensive meal and not that good.

Although I had incidated in my request that I was coming with two children, the hotel never mentioned an additional price of $45 each until after we reached there. This jacked up the cost by almost $100 per night for us.

Sadly the hotel had no record of the Venere reservation. However helpful staff were soon able to allocate rooms to us. It is a good thing there was some availability. Confirmations via other reservations agencies come via mail direct from the hotel. I would always look for this in future, rather than relying on an assumption that the reservation is confirmed because I have not heard anything to the contrary. I would welcome your comments.
