Hotel de Saint-Germain - Paris, France     

Great location for a quick overnighter. Small rooms and no lobby lounge area makes you get out and about early.

The rooms in the Hotel de Saint Germain are a bit on the small side (but what European hotel room isn’t) and you can hear the metro rumbling at night, but it is really hard to beat this hotel’s price and location. My friend and I stayed here for a weekend in May 2007 and couldn’t have been happier. Our small bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated, and the gentlemen working at the reception desk was very sweet and recommended us some decent restaurants. Having stayed at much pricier four star hotels in Paris in the past, I must say that when faced with the choice in the future, I will elect to stay at the Hotel de Saint Germain again. Yes, the rooms are sparse, but the price is more than fair, which something highly unusual in Paris, and besides, one does not spend much time in his or her room when in the lovely city of Paris anyway.
