3I'm a female in 30's and just stayed for 4 nights with my boyfriend. I was a bit nervous having read the reviews but I have to say this hotel was quite pleasant. Undoubtedly the biggest plus is the location of the Hotel. It provides an excellent base for exploring all the usual attractions of Paris. The Madeleine area itself is particularly beautiful, with a collection of specialist shops and eating options and gardens. The Metro connection is v accessible and Lourve, Concorde, Seine,Champs-Elysees etc are all very reachable (10-15 mins)by walking. The staff were reserved but friendly and helpful when needed. The room, while compact ,was clean and the shower had heat and pressure although was handheld from the bath. We didn't use breakfast options as too many nice cafe options in Paris to hang around, so can't comment on that aspect. Bar was just a little 'corner' point like a home bar in a nice traditional dining room area. Weaker points overall for me were overly dark atmosphere in bedroom even for French Boutique hotel and lack of ' extras' such as plug points and mirrors. In similar fashion to the room, the elevator is 'tight', but in a typically French way. It posed no problem for us 30 somethings.Plus points were location, v comfortable beds, and general atmosphere. Make no mistake, this is a typical 'boutique hotel' which may lack some of the finer modernities, however ,overall, the location, and price make it a pleasant experience and I would be happy to stay again.
