Location

"Les Jardins de Paris Saint-Lazare" is ideally situated in the heart of the famous Saint-Lazare district, very close to the Opera House and not far from Montmartre.
Touristic interests:
The 8th district owes its notoriety to the Arc-de-Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées, but there is much more to discover than that. Here are 3 fine examples of what can be seen in the area: the Russain Orthodox Church (12 rue Daru, limited opening hours), the 'Parc Monceau' and of course, the Saint Lazare train station: the busiest Parisian train station.

We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend, yes it was very basic but it was also very cheap and in a great location. We didn't bother with the breakfast (when there are so many great cafe's in paris, why eat at the hotel ?) The rooms did smell of smoke but If you just wanted somewhere to sleep each night, it was clean, safe and in a great location. Don't be fooled by others, you get what you pay for and the hotel didn't damper our weekend in paris.

The room was small. The "shower" was attached to a bath tap with no curtain around the bath so you soaked the floor. The bed was rock hard, the pillows were filled with some light foam that had no substance so they flattened when you lay on them. A small rail to hang your clothes, no draws etc. Breakfast very basic. Reception staff as miserable as sin and unhelpful. I asked for a plaster for a blister on my toe and the receptionist replied "I have no plaster" and looked away. Cheers. I would not recommend this dive to my worst enemy.
