It is really costeffective for an expensive place like Paris. It's directly in front of the metro station and just next to a couple of brasseries where you can have breakfast for the half of the price requested by the hotel.

The hotel was nice and good enough. With a subway entrance right in front, so good located to move through subway. Rooms are small but cute. Problem was the parking. They don't have a parking and sent us to one two-three blocks away. The guy in charge there, first, didn't speak a word of english or spanish and second aparently there was no room in the parking and since he had no way to communicate, he ended up nervous, yelling and he even spat at me. I guess, by the looks, that he insulted me badly, but I can't really tell, since i didn't understand a word of all the screaming, though i got scared and left quickly. Pretty nasty all scene. At the hotel i tried to get a complaint sheet but they didn't give me one and the only explanation was that 'French people are not like this, just people from Paris'. Apart from that, the hotel was fine, old, but painted with bright colours and clean, although never a boutique hotel as i know them.

The best thing about this hotel was the metro stop directly outside the hotel so it didnt really matter that we were on outskirts a bit as you could always get anywhere in 20mins. The hotel itself was ok, website showed nice rooms but our room had wallpaper coming off the wall and beds were quiet low too, on the first night we kind of felt quite itchy which subsided the 2nd night so not sure what went on there, kind of felt the mattress could do with a hoovering!!! Our room was at front so it overlooked the road which was very busy and noisy every night so you couldnt leave the balcony window open when room heats up (no air con), sirens were constantly going & lots of police cars around so not sure if it was because there was something going on that weekend that i was oblivious too. Reception staff welcomed us when we arrive but never once told us about facilities or where dining room was so we never ate there. The stairs were very winding and lift extremely small - not for the Claustrophobic!! There is a nice Steak house around the corner and late opening supermarket where we bought our breakfast and stored in the mini fridge each evening. Also about Paris in general, i wasnt aware all the shops closed on a sunday so we had no retail therapy whats so ever, best to research where you want to go and what you want to do / see before you get there. And, if you've never been before i recommend the shuttlebus to and from the airport, well worth the money
