"Very pleasant stay"

I had a truly lovely stay at Villa Eugenie. Yes, it is a bit out of the way, but as a New Yorker, I did not mind the long walk through Paris in the least bit. The hotel is small and charming and ornate decorations are throughout. Reception desk was pleasant and I suggest asking them for a much-needed map to get around. The elevator is adorable and barely fits one with a suitcase or two. My room was very, very clean with linens in red toile throughout. Not for the faint of heart but I was in heaven. The bathroom was very accomodating and new. I never ate there so I can't tell you about the food but there is a lovely and lively street off of Rue Cardinet filled with bakeries, butchers and cafes where you will find delicious food at a very reasonable price. I would pick up lunch there everdyday and eat in in nearby Parc Monceau. Nice treat! There is a small market just next door where I had Internet access at a very low cost (40 euros for 10 minutes). Clearly the hotel is worth the price.

Nice hotel, poor location. Room not ready when I arrived (5 PM), the previous clients' stuff were still in the room ...

A Good Quality City Hotel

We read the previous reviews and were scepitcal about staying here, we should not have been, the hotel whilst a smaller type of city centre hotel it was excellent. The hotel was so good for transport links, simply walk out the door a catch a Number 31 Bus and 5 minutes later you are at the Arc de Triumph, which is a great "hub" to connect to all Metro lines. This was so easy to get around. The rooms are not huge but are clean and tidy, we did not notice any excessive noise coming from the streets. The breakfast was excellent!!! lots of choice and well presented. PS. Buy the Paris Metro Visitor Ticket, which gives you unlimited trave, bus, metro, ReR within the city, for 3 days ours was only 19 euros, great value! We would happily stay there again.

Unfortunately my first trip to Paris was spoiled when my boyfriend's mobile phone and all my money were stolen from our bedroom when we went down to breakfast. We were only away from the room for 20 minutes and came back to find that someone had been in our bedroom and taken our things. There was no forced entry suggesting that it must have been someone connected to the hotel. The staff weren't particularly helpful and didn't offer us any compensation - not even a reduction on the bill. My boyfriend and I were left to try and salvage what was left of the weekend (after spending 3 hours at the police station), without any money and despite several letters, we've not heard anything from the hotel since....So if you're going to book at this hotel, don't assume that locking your bedroom door will be enough to keep your belongings safe.
