I have now stayed here a few times, because the location of this hotel is perfect. Smack in the center on one of the 'hippest' rues of Paris. Access via the RER from CDG is a snap and once there getting around is easy, with plenty of metro stations around (although the closest taxi stand is always empty). The hotel itself is difficult to classify. The small reception is friendly and pretty efficient, the one elevator one of the slowest in the world. Rooms are decent, although small. Beds are comfortable. Some of the bathrooms so small they are difficult for even an average sized person to use (and I am very average sized). Phone reception in the area is not easy and Wifi through SFR very expensive. Rooms facing the street can be noisy, even on the higher floors. And breakfast is too expensive for what it is at 12 Euros. But everything is right there, which is a giant plus, newspapers are free and plentyful and the hotel overall is quite charming.

Victoires Opera scores a "victory" for us!

I took my two daughters age 15 and 23 to Paris in June. I wanted a small boutique hotel, so after researching the web, I found the Victoires Opera Hotel. I was apprehensive at first because I had never stayed there, but I was pleasantly surprised at the location, cleanliness and friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were small but it did not matter, as the great location far outweighed this fact. It was a perfect experience for my girls, as we were in the center of Paris, within walking distance of the Louvre, shopping, and many other attractions. Lovely cafes, bars and shops line the pedestrian street, and it does get a little loud at night, as our room faced the street, but open the windows and take in the full ambiance of Paris!!

Booked our stay in Paris through wotif.com, i think we paid around 180 Euros, we used trip advisor to research a few of the other Hotels in Paris and boy were we glad we did. This Hotel was a little more expensive than some of the others around but was well worth the extra, very clean and tidy, small romms but who cares, you should be out seeing the sights anyway. Its situated in a very nice part of town close to all the main attractions, tube station, Notre Dame, Champs Elyse, Louvre. Hotel is situated in a vehicle restricted street surrounded by lots of really quaint bars and cafes and there are 2 supermarkets about 200 m up the street. The highlight of the Hotel is the staff, in particular a lovely lady by the name of Lamia, she was very helpful in ordering taxis booking tours for us and showing us where to go. Our French was very limited and this kind lady spoke good English and was able to help out and was one of the highlights of our trip. On our last day we gave her a big hug, my wife had a tear in her eye on the way out as she was so sad to say goodbye. Do try to learn a little bit of French out of respect for a very proud people, bonjour, se vous plais, Merci etc, they do appreciate it if you at least have a go and will mostly change to English if they see you are struggling. Found them very friendly and helpfull. If you can, try to get a room not facing the street as the cafes can be a bit noisy late at night, staff are real friendly so dont be shy to ask. stayed for two nights and the best thing about the hotel is the location.rooms are on the small side but spotlessly clean. we spent two very uncomfortable nights as the air-con was non existent and it was very hot! staff were quite helpful but I would not stay there again and do not think it deserves the 4 star rating.

brilliant weekend full of surprises

A friend and I booked this hotel for our husbands. It was their joint 40th birthday surprise. We spent ages studying reviews and finally braved it and booked the victoire opera. The location was perfect, 5 minute walk to the metro, 15 minutes to the louvre. Ideal base for sight seeing. We didn't eat breakfast as we preferred to soak up the atmosphere in the many local cafes. We had read the reviews so knew our rooms would be small but they were clean, neat and perfectly formed! Our room overlooked the street which was noisy first thing in the morning, our friends overlooked the courtyard, but you couldn't see out as the window was too high!We had booked restaurants before arriving and the receptionist confirmed our bookings, she was very helpful and full of suggestions to make the weekend even more magical! The hotel was flexible about departure time and allowed us to store our bags on arrival and prior to leaving. Our husbands were very impressed by what we had planned and where we were staying, we said they could take us back anytime! We booked through eurostar, just remember that you have to pay local taxes on departure.
