Hotel Romer - Gunzburg, Germany 

Have just returned from a trip to Legoland staying at the Hotel Romer Garni. Legoland is only a 10min drive away. Highly recommend this hotel. We booked a double room with two baby cots. When we arrived, we found ourselves with a very large, clean, modern looking room. As well as a double bed, the two cots we also had a double couch. A change mat was kindly provided for our use as well. We did find the bathroom to be on the small side but like the rest of the room it was very clean. Our room was situation overlooking the road which did create a little noise but was not an issue for our family. Parking straight across the road was also free. The included breakfast was a typical German style. Plenty to choose from. A small section was set out for the little ones as well. Staff were also very friendly.

Only ten minutes drive from Leogland and five minutes (uphill!) walk from the charming marketplace in Gunzburg, which has lots of simple dining options. We booked a family room for four. Very spacious, clean and streamlined. Large Austrian twin for the adults and a wide sofabed for the kids. A small but modern bathroom with a powerful shower. Decorated like a slightly upmarket Travelodge but with better fittings and more character. Breakfast was a typical excellent German buffet, with some nice touches especially for the kids. Felt very secure and welcoming. Would definitely return if we are in this part of Germany again. Only downside is that the hotel opens directly onto a fairly busy road. We didn't experience any noise problems, but it might put some folks off.
