Hotel Garni Reulein - Lindau, Germany     

I stayed at the Hotel Garni Reulein while attending a conference on the island. I was late in booking my room, so by the time I did, all the rooms on the island were full. Although not right on the island, it was convenient for me to walk down to the island for the day's events (20 min), or even take the bus (7 min) in inclement weather since the bus stop is directly across the street. If you have a car, then you're set. In short, everything was fantastic. For that price in the United States, I would expect to get service only half as good. The staff was incredibly friendly, my room was spotless, and the breakfast buffet was just right. Although I spoke no German, the staff made every effort to understand me and meet my needs. The hotel as a whole was well kept and clean. The view from my room out over the lake and alps was incredible. I would definitely stay there again. On a side note, the hotel had a cat, so if you're very allergic, it might be an issue since it has free roam of the property.
