Hotel-Gasthof Breiterle address: Rödergasse 30, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, 1054 GE

Hotel-Gasthof Breiterle details: Our hotel, inside the wall of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a picturesque town dating back to the Middle Ages, is strongly connected to the history of the town.

Franconian hospitality at its best and already established for generations, the hotel offers traditional guest rooms and an event room for up to 80 people.

Right opposite the hotel is the Roeder Tower which is located near the well-known Gerlach blacksmith’s shop in the old town centre.

We are a Non-Smoking-Hotel.

The idyllic old guest-house with its former brewery "Zum Breiterle" was acquired in the early 18th century by the last Hege-Riders, also called the "Bereiter", previously were in charge of the so-called "Landhege" of the old Free Town of Rothenburg and had their residence at the "hege-Riders' House" in the hospital's courtyard. This is the historical background of our house's name "Zum Breiterle"

Hotel Breiterle was a nice place to stay. It is conveniently located within the old town's limits and very near the city's wall. Great location! Breakfast was typical Euro fare and nice. The only negatives were that the rooms are not air-conditioned, which most older places in Europe aren't. Could have used a fan as it was warm when we were there. The other negative would be that there were no hairdryers provided which would have been nice to have. All in all, a good value for the money and the place was clean.

I loved this place. The owner had grown up in Australia so he was particularly thoughtful and kind - like most Australians really! He and his family were a part of the community and locals came by for drinks and chat. Nothing was too much trouble as they made me feel welcome. The German food was excellent and the room tarrif for single travelling me was really reasonable. It is located just inside the main entry and is a pretty special place in a wonderful mediaeval town!
