Millennium Kuala Lumpur - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia     

This is a great hotel in a great location. We arrived whilst the renovations were going on, but this did not cause us any problem. The staff were incredibly courteous and couldn't have been more helpful. I left behind a small piece of luggage and when I returned to Kuala Lumpur some four days later, not only did they have my luggage, but it had been carefully packed up with my name and room number on it. Thank you.

We stayed in the Millenium for 12 nights having arrived 6 days after the name change, I had booked under the old REGENT website and to our suprise we were told of the change on arrival. We were taken to an old side entrance by taxi and wondered what was going on! The main entrance is undergoing a major reconstruction and rebuilding programme and is a reconstruction zone , very noisy by day but ok at night. Staff are working under very difficult conditions and show no signs of stress which they must be under. we were shown to our non-smoking floor room and the room smelt very strongly of tobacco smoke, we put up with this one night, i complained to management and we were quickly relocated to another room. Our stay co-incided with school holidays which proved to be very noisy at times with ill disciplined children running and yelling up and down our hotel room corridors sometimes as late as 11pm. Management were very sympathetic and did their best to relocate us again but this proved to be a worse situation. The whole hotel site is in a construction zone and is very noisy by day especially by the magnificent swimming pool, pity really but i suppose this could be put down to progress? There are many new buildings under construction in the vicinity and i suspect the work will continue for quite some time. The staff were wonderful, attentive, helpful and tried to make our stay a great one but were working with factors under which they had no control.The hotel has a great location, Magnificent swimming pool, great staff and the newly (not all) refurbished rooms are really well appointed but I would say the hotel is a "ear plug" hotel for light sleepers like myself. All in all we would consider staying at the Millenium again hoping they get thing right first time there may be better deals in the same area, i suggest you check as the price at the Millenium is steep considering the problems they have and may not be good value.
