I took my family to the restuarant for a birthday dinner celebration (7 people). The service was friendly but not very polished. There was another party in the restuarant and as the evening went by, the service became slower and slower. We had our dessert served but one of our party was forgotten about and the chosen dish did nor arrive until the others were finished. We decided to leave without completing the birthday celebration (cake etc.) as the service had ground to a stop. The final bill of nearly ?500 included a 10% 'discretionery' service charge!! Hardly appropriate ....

I would strongly advise anybody who wants to have a trouble free stay, with a genuine star rating, should avoid this tacky want to be hotel.
1. The pride of Britain Hotel guide informed me that it was a spa and had massage, sauna, and Jacuzzi, steam and a gym. It had none of these facilities all we got was a cheap aromotheropy bath with lights in it!
2.Parking is ideal for matchbox toys and was constantly a worry.
3. All hotel fittings where want to be and desperately missing the mark of quality and taste, badly installed DIY. Floor boards creaked, with window frames painted by Stevie Wonder. However the bed was comfy.
4. Disguised and sly pricing of Breakfast, Scrambled egg (with hair?)and a fruit smoothie, a scrambed egg with salmon and a coffee came to ?40 pounds yes 40! However they kindly did not charge me extra for the hair!
5. As it was a warm evening I decided to let my hair down with a cool pint of cider. It was warm and cost ?8.80.
I believe we all should enjoy life to the full, I love quality, and I am more than willing to pay for it. However I hate being taken for a fool. This is a glorified B&B, it is certainly not a hotel, it is a sad mans dream that is cost me my time (writing this) and my money!
The many staff seem very unhappy and there appears to be a fast turn over. This doesn't suprise me.
