Hotel California Champselysees - Paris, France     

When searching, I pulled up two hotels of the same name. The one I am reviewing is on Rue Berri just off the Champs Elysees. I booked this Paris trip in a hurry. Because this was the first one that popped up on the Orbitz page and was the star rating I wanted, I pounced site unsee. Orbitz is right. This is the best bang for your Paris buck or Euro. The room was great. It was quiet. The staff was more than attentive. Certain little things needed attention and were attended to right away. The test, for me, for a good hotel is how well the desk staff performs under pressure. With stacks of demanding people around the desk the staff could multitask like crazy and keep NOBODY waiting. Go for this one. I'm certainly going back.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while we were in Paris. We arrived about five hours prior to check in. Our room wasn't available yet, so they took our luggage, gave us a few suggestions on where to eat and asked us to come back in a few hours. When we returned, our room was ready and the bellman brought up our luggage right away. The room was on the small side by American standards. There were windows that opened up and overlooked the courtyard. There is no alarm in the room, so you need to use the TV as your clock unless you bring your own. The bathroom in our room was long and skinny and the tub/shower combination made for a wet floor the first time, but other than that, it was just fine. All in all the room was quite nice and we would stay there again. The location was excellent and the Metro was within walking distance to go to other parts of the city. There were a number of great restaurants in the area. Keep in mind your location, everything costs more around the Champs-Elysees.
