Wilson - Paris, France     

Booked through promotion package on eurostar, it took a while to find a reasonably priced hotel in close vicinity to Paris. Hotel Wilson is actually 'outside' of Paris technically, but by no means far. It is only 5 mins from GARE ST LAZARE - on the SNCF Transilien. This train isn't found on most tourist metro maps, and you will need to take the right train that stops at GARE D'ASNIERES - Asni?res-sur-Seine. Just check the TV screen in front of the platform prior to boarding. From the station, its a comfortable 5 mins walk from the Rue de la Station exit. Also note, the address on the Tripadvisor site is correct, but the map is wrong. I've notified the webmaster about this - hopefully it'll avoid confusion to us all going forward! The hotel is located in Asnieres-sur-Seine, not Ile-de-France. Despite 2 star rating, its quite adequate and convenient. Free buffet breakfast and clean rooms makes a very enjoyable stay. Staff was helpful and friendly, definitely value for money.

We booked this trip through Venere.com and paid 50 euro a night for a standard room. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is staying in Paris and is looking to save a little money. While the metro does not take you to Asni?re-sur-Seine, you can still use your standard metro ticket or pass to get to the SNCf train station which is a short walk from the hotel. The trains run frequently and we never waited more than 10 minutes to get into the city. The neighbourhood is a nice, safe little area with grocery stores, bakeries, butchers, small shops, and plenty of restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is great. It is clean and tastefully decorated inside. The staff is friendly and multi-lingual. If you have a problem walking up stairs, there is a tiny elevator, but don't expect to get more than one person and one bag into it at a time! The rooms, while small for American standards, are sufficiently sized and comfortable. I mean, come one, you're in Paris, the last thing you're going to be doing is spending a lot of time in the hotel room. The rooms have their own bathrooms with shower, which is a plus. Having wireless internet was also a great feature. Breakfasts were wonderful. There was coffee and juice as well as a selection of pastries, cheeses and meats. It was a nice way to start the day. The next time we return to Paris, we are most certainly staying at the Hotel Wilson again.
