Hotel Little Regina - Paris, France     

Stayed in the Little Regina on a romantic getaway in February this year. The hotel was a short walk from Gare du Nord station, and the metro was right outside the hotel, so it was handy, but then most B&Bs in Paris are not far from a metro station. The room rate was about average for Paris but I have stayed in better hotels for about the same price. The room was very tatty and worn. We were at the back of the hotel on the top floor and they were carrying out some renovations at the time which involved workmen on scaffolding literally hammering the shutters on our window for hours on end which sort of killed the mood albeit temporarily. The hotel manager was quite unsympathetic asking us what did we expect "we are in France" as if this offered some sort of acceptable explanation, erm... I certainly don't expect to have an array of workmen bidding me goodmorning through my bathroom window when i am half dressed! He only moved us to a different room after repeated requests. The room he moved us to was at the front of the hotel and was not as tatty as the first room. Oh yes, the walls are paper thin, say no more. I thought that the area it was situated in was seedy, dirty and not very pleasant. The breakfast was unremarkable with stale bread, croissants and the usual jam/butter etc. The only plus was the bed whilst it had seen better days it was actually the most comfortable bed i have slept in - but having walked around Paris all day etc I could have slept on a clothes line. My advice - stay somewhere else!
