Scandic Palace address: Vabaduse Väljak 3, Tallinn, CB1 3DT

Scandic Palace details: The distinguished building of this Palace at Tallinn's main square has been a prominent landmark since 1937.

Scandic Palace has an excellent location in town. The Old Town together with the modern city centre forms an area ideal for taking a walk, and most of the sights are close by. The view from the hotel is breathtaking: Old Town towers, Church Spires and Gable Roofs of Gothic buildings are all there. Most of the shopping centres are also close by.

Stayed here for one night for business proposes. The outside of the hotel is ugly: grey communist exterior. But the inside is Ok. Rooms were nice, but warm. I don't think they have airco. Breakfast was plentiful. The hotel has a good location: just cross the road and you are in the medieval city. I really liked the city! I was very much surprised by it: It would be great city trip: not too many tourists and lovely colourful houses and great atmosphere!

Not much to say about it. Location is good, on the edge of the old town, exteriour is like a communistic building. Inside it could be like any hotel of that era. Rooms are Scandic-design. Ask for a room on the fifth or sixth floor for a view (old town) but be aware of streetnoise in all the rooms on the frontside. Don't think the seventh floor is even better because the windows are in the ceiling and don't open for more than 10 or 20 centimeter (big room but no view). And a bath is not to be had in the rooms on the backside of the building but then this is also the silent side of the building. I had to change rooms three times in order to get what I thought was like a 4-star hotelroom. Breakfast is fine but nothing to start singing about. It's buffetstyle. Why is the service bland. They don't let you feel welcome, instead they act like it's fine you are there, but if not also no problem. And since this is not a cool design hotel with dito staff you wonder what happened with service. After all they also belong to the Hilton Group.
