Hotel Des Tuileries - Nimes, France     

We booked into H?tel des Tuileries based on all the glowing reviews that we read about it, but checked out after only one night. The room we stayed in was really shabby and smelt of damp. The furniture was very old and mis-matched and the overall look was far from relaxing or comfortable. There was damp and mould in our cupboard. The lift was ancient and creaked really badly and there was a huge electrical device (the main air-con unit maybe) just beside our window that hummed all night. It felt like we were staying in an old haunted house rather than a hotel with good reviews. The bathroom and toilet were desperately in need of updating as well. I feel slightly bad writing such a bad review because the owners are nice people and things like the location and the breakfasts were excellent, but this hotel was really not pleasant to stay in. We had a really uncomfortable stay in this hotel (the beds were very old and lumpy) and I would not recommend it to anyone.
