Nice: 19 museums and art galleries, 32 listed historic buildings and 300 hectares of parks, gardens, forests and green spaces, as well as 150 fountains and ponds.
The old town, demarcated by the Castle, Place Garibaldi and Le Paillon, is a very lively area. Worth seeing: Tour Bellanda (circular 19th century bastion), the Naval Museum, Place Garibaldi and Place St François, Ste Réparate Cathedral and the various churches, the port etc.
The seafront with the Promenade des Anglais has a sweeping view of the Bay of Angels (from Cape Nice to Fort Carré in Antibes), and the Masséna Square, "Espace" and Museum.
Cimiez Hill is home to the aristocratic district of Nice as well as several museums (Marc Chagall Museum, Matisse Museum, archaeological museum) and other curiosities (amphitheatre, monastery etc.)
The Western districts: the Fine Art Museum, the A.Jakovsky Naive Art Museum, the Miniature Train Museum, Phoenix Park (botanical gardens with over 2,000 species of plants and animals), etc.
The Promenade du Paillon: the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
Other places to see: St Nicolas Russian Orthodox Cathedral.
• The surrounding area
The back country around Nice: the "Corniche de la Riviera" (coast road between Nice and Menton) with three levels: the high "Grande Corniche" offering stunning panoramic views (culminating at 450 m), the "Moyenne Corniche" with its pretty views of the shoreline, and the lower "Corniche Inférieure" running through all the coastal resorts. A wealth of sites and picturesque villages to discover, such as Mont Chauve (16 km), Tourrette-Levens (17 km), La Turbie (19 km), Aspremont (22 km), and St Martin de Peille (22 km).
Places to visit: Cagnes-sur-Mer (11 km), Cap Ferrat (15 km), Vence (19 km), St Paul de Vence, the artists’ town (17 km), Vallauris and its ceramics (24 km), Mougins (29 km), Grasse, the capital of perfume (34 km), etc.

By Car (from Paris):
- Take the A6 motorway towards Lyon.
- Then take the A7 motorway towards Marseille and the A8 towards Aix-en-Provence/Nice.
- Take the exit 50 towards Nice Centre.
- Follow the Promenade des Anglais (left hand lane).
- At the 11th traffic light, make a 180° turn and follow the road signs towards Orion Résidence de Tourisme.

From there, you can take a taxi to the hotel or bus lines 12 or 23 and get off at Fabron (500 metres from the residence).

From there you can take a taxi or rent a car.
