Ermitage De Corton - Chorey, France 

We wanted an independant hotel with easy access to the autoroute and a picture we saw of the hotel looked good. We were not prepared for just how close to the main road the hotel was but as our room was at the back of the hotel we did not notice any road noise. Overall the hotel needed some TLC at the time of our stay. Our room was satisfactory on the ground floor of a seperate building with a little patio to sit out on - no view though. The open plan bathroom was off a seperate sitting area - little privacy. The room did have a damp smell to it. We liked the fact that we could bring our own wine into the restaurant though after a few days neither of us could easily remember what we had eaten except that the pudding was enormous. So the meal was OK but not memorable. The people running the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We would go back because of its location but would need to know that some remedial work on the overall decor had been done.

Admittedly arriving on a Sunday night in the pouring rain isn't the best start but were shown to a room that had not been cleaned so were moved without an apology. Agree with the last reviewer about the food and overpriced breakfast. The hotel could be lovely but needs a good clean up and some smiling staff
