Arcantis Jules Verne - Nantes, France     

We wasted hours waiting for the arrival of a French speaking friend as the hotel had made a mistake with the rooms even though I had booked on the telephone with an English speaking member of staff. The room was clean and freshly decorated but there was no shower only a shower attachment in the bath - useless as there was no wall fitting nor shower curtain. The tooth mugs were plastic. The breakfast room is gloomy and windowless in the cellar. There was some street noise but that is to be expected in the middle of town and England had just trounced the French rugby team.

Not great at all, the room was tiny just enough to swing an exceedingly small hampster and while the location was good it was a bit too good as it seemed to be the hang out of every teenager in town. I was there on a Monday and Tuesday night and I can say is that the people of Nantes like to party!! and right under my window too. I dread to think what it would be like on a Fri or Sat night. It seemed to be a competation in who could make the most noise, the teenagers, the local football supporters or the local Council. If you are thinking of staying here there are better places.
