I have just returned from the chamois blanc and would like to say i found the place very pleasant and ejoyable ,reception staff were very helpfull and will help you all they can, rooms were dated if your bothered about flowery furnishings, kitchen is fully equiped even provide you with washing up liquid, sponge and dishwasher tablets.towels were good quality and bed sheets clean and white. Ski hire shop next to hotel ideal and good prices. Bus stop over the road for all stops in chamonix area.Bowling alley opposite which is great for the kids and adults. Next to the hotel is a take away pizzeria which makes outstanding pizzas and cheap too!! mont blanc cable car 2 mins away and the village centre is about 10 mins stroll..... I would definately rate this hotel for all ages it has all you need and i would definately return.I hope this review helps anyone thinking about staying....

I booked this hotel in December 07 through Thomson/Crystal. As it was quite last minute I knew I wouldn't get exactly what I wanted but it looked nice enough and they advertise it as being ideal for families- which it is not! The accommodation is more like a low budget hostel. The rooms smelt stale and looked as though they hadn't been decorated since the 70's. We couldn't bare to stay so I called my thomson rep to see if we could be moved. Apparently there wasn't another room free in the whole of Chamonix so I was told that we 'got what we paid for' and there was nothing more they could do. Luckily we spoke to one of the very helpful reception staff who said this happened all the time and even though we had been told all the rooms in Chamonix were full, he managed to move us, hassle free to one of their partner hotels across the road (Residence Les Aiglons) which was perfect for what we wanted. If you want the most basic of accommodation (and I mean basic) then stay here but if you are a family or plan to spend any time in your room, I would not recommend this place. That said, the staff at Chamois Blanc were very helpful beyond expectation. I cannot say the same for Thomson/ Crystal and will certainly not book a holiday with them again.
