Check in / front desk
4.0
We just returned from our honeymoon in Italy, which ended with four days in Venice at the Casa Nicolo. The first thing to note is that it is a very hard place to find, even if you get directions or have a map. We walked around it for a half an hour dragging our luggage, there is absolutely no signage for this place. I had mixed feelings about our stay at Casa Nicolo (while there we noticed they seemed to have dropped the Priuli part of the name). On one hand we were in a great part of Venice and everything was clean and very pretty, but on the other hand we really didn’t like the feel we got while staying there. Our room was in one of the outer buildings which I wasn't thrilled with since we had asked to be in the main building. The outer building seemed to be mostly apartments and then two floors of hotel rooms, it was so separate that we were not even able to call the front desk if we had a question but had to go outside and walk to the main building to speak with them. Our room was very nice, it was large, with a good size bathroom, and had a canal view (which sounded great but ended up being very noisy all night long). The only other issue with our room was that if you left the room or just left the AC on for a while it would turn off automatically, so you would come home and have to wait a while for the room to cool off or you would wake up in the middle of the night and have to turn it back on. As I said we had mixed feelings about staying here, we would probably not stay here again - it was not an awful place to stay by any means but it wasn’t the best when you have so many choices in Venice.
