Amangani Resort Hotel - Cannes, France 

I had to stay at this hotel whilst at the Gartner Symposium last week in Cannes. Having read other reviews I was not looking forward to the stay. Having arrived late on monday evening, having not been able to take my suit bag/shirt on the plane, i had to fold them up and put in my suitcase, which on arrival at the hotel was very creased. I was told by reception that they did not have an Iron in the hotel, nor was i allowed to buy one, and if i attempted to bring one in then I would be EJECTED!! I managed to get to Galleries Lafayete before it closed and buy a shirt otherwise I would have turned up at the conference looking like I had been dragged through a hedge backwards! I chose to get my other shirts dry cleaned and pressed by the 3rd party the hotel gets to pick up and drop off (48 hr turnaround i might add!) - apart from that , the rooms are small, the hotel is dated inside, but clean, and bed was comfy, not a 4* by anymeans, but it was Ok, i would not return their out of choice

I had a reservation to stay at the hotel with my family (3 children of 5, 3 and 1) in two interconnecting rooms, for which I paid a one-night deposit. On the day of our arrival, I received a call from the hotel cancelling the reservation. Needless to say there was no other hotel to stay at in Cannes and we were left to sort out our own accommodation - the nearest being some 100 miles away near Aix en Provence! At the time of writing, I am still awaiting for the refund of my deposit and am reviewing my options legally. I would recommend avoiding these charlatans like the plague!
