Ostella - Bastia, France 

We arrived to what appeared at first to be a nice hotel, yet when we got to the reception desk our mind soon changed. A very nice receptionist began to speak to us in english We had booked a triple room with 3 seperate beds. The receptionist was just about to hand us our keys when an extremley rude lady who was also behind the desk said in french"Do not give them that room, it is too nice for 3 young girls" (She obviously didnt take into consideration that we might be able to speak french- I am fleunt in french, and to further more aggravate the situation we are all in our late 20s/early 30s so to be told we couldnt get a nice room because we were 3 "young girls"...) I was in total disbelief at how any one in hotel could be so unbareably rude. She was on the phone by know so I decided to go view the room before saying anything. The room was small, shabby old furniture and decor, with a double & single bed, towels for 2 people. At this point I was furious, so I told my friends what the woman at the desk had said and returned to the reception desk to speak with her. She was yet again extremely rude and stayed on the phone for the duration of the time I spoke with the receptionist(who was obviously very embarased at the situation after realising I spoke french) When I asked who the rude lady was I was informed she was the General Manager. The hotel also advertises how it is very close to Bastia town centre, which it is not. It advertises its facilities such as pool...but does not tell you that to use any of the facilities you have to pay an extra to use anything in the hotel. I would certainly not recommend this hotel to anybody after our experience there.
