Avignon Grand Hotel - Avignon, France     

My husband and I spent one night at this hotel while on a trip through Provence for our first anniversary. We loved it! The location was fabulous; just a short walk to the main street of the old city. The hotel was beautiful and our room was huge. We felt so spoiled! The breakfast brunch is NOT worth the price, but otherwise we totally enjoyed our stay here. We will return for sure if we have the chance to return to Avignon.

Very nice location. But if you're taking the TGV you'll need the taxi as there is the TGV station about 10 minutes away by taxi not the station by the hotel. The beds were the worst beds we slept in throughout all of France - hard and small. Come on! Get some decent size comfortable beds. Further, there was barely enough room for my wife and I. On the plus side, the room was spacious with a sitting room. We ate a dinner there once in the evening and they had a pretty good buffet with great desserts. However, as some posters have mentioned, the breakfast is to die for. Excellent buffet breakfast and the coffee was top notch. The staff were friendly as well. The rating would be higher if it weren't for the uncomfortable beds.
