The room on the 2nd floor, booked as a twin, contained a small double and a single bed which took over most of the space. There was also insufficient hanging space . The bathroom was OK, if tatty. The breakfast area was badly set out and very crowded, especially when 3 coach parties were all trying to eat at once. However, the food was varied, generous and hot (where appropriate). Considering the nearness of the motorway the hotel was very quiet and had pleasant grounds and an outdoor pool. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful; most spoke adequate English. The real drawback is the distance from the town centre. The bus stop was a few minutes walk through a quiet, if rundown residential area, and the bus took about 20 minutes. If you were using the hotel as a base for touring the advantage would be quick access to the motorway. The only local place to eat in the evening was the hotel restaurant where the food was expensive (by English standards), boring , tepid.

La camera al secondo piano, che avrebbe dovuto avere due letti gemelli, era quasi completamente occupata da un piccolo letto matrimoniale e da un letto singolo. Non c’era, inoltre, abbastanza spazio per appendere. Il bagno non era male, anche se dava segni di usura. La sala colazione era mal strutturata e affollatissima, soprattutto quando 3 pullman di gitanti cercavano tutti di mangiare insieme. Il cibo era comunque variato, abbondante e caldo (se necessario). Considerando la vicinanza all’autostrada, l’hotel era molto silenzioso, con un parco e una piscina esterna molto belli. Il personale era gentile, efficiente e disponibile e quasi tutti parlavano un buon inglese. Il vero inconveniente era la distanza dal centro. Si poteva raggiungere la fermata dell’autobus a piedi, in qualche minuto, attraversando una zona residenziale tranquilla ma un po’ malandata, ma il bus impiegava una ventina di minuti. L’hotel è ottimo come base per spostarsi in auto, essendo così vicino all’autostrada. L’unico posto in cui mangiare nella zona, la sera, era il ristorante dell’hotel, dove il cibo era costoso (per gli standard inglesi), monotono e poco caldo.
