Timhotel Montmartre - Paris, France

Timhotel Montmartre details:
The location is exceptional. Perched on the slopes of Montmartre, next to the Bateau Lavoir of Picasso, the location of this hotel is one of the most desirable in Paris. Set beside a delightful chestnut tree square and the Wallace Fountain, it looks like a scene from a picture postcard.

This is just what I was looking for, up on the hill in Montmartre facing out onto a little square with trees and a cafe, an ideal base to spend a weekend in Paris.
The room was a superior room on the 4th floor with a city view - this was a medium/small room with air conditioning, and the best feature, a little balcony with views over the rooftops to Paris and the Eiffel tower. Even with the balcony doors open at night, it was quite quiet, even though it looked down onto a street below.
The bathroom was small with a shower only, however, I didn't find it easy to negotiate. The design of the shower meant it was difficult to use without either flooding the bathroom floor or knocking the large control lever inwards, which if it didn't turn the shower off completely, turned the water very very hot - so I would imagine you would need to be careful if traveling with little ones. The glass shelf over the sink also made it difficult to use. However, on the whole it was quite new, impeccably clean every day, with clean towels and plenty hot water so not a big issue. There seem to be a few different types/sizes of room - some with baths.
I found breakfast in the hotel to be good value for ?8.50 with a buffet selection of breads, pastries, cheese, ham, coffee, tea etc. The breakfast room overlooked the square outside, and I think it was only crowded on the Sunday morning. The buffet was always kept well stocked. All staff were helpful and friendly throughout the hotel, and throughout the visit. The lift fit us both in with our luggage so not too bad :-)
It was a lovely area to be based in, with lots of cafes, bars and restaurants, and the Abbesses m?tro station just down the road if you want to go into Paris (30 metres deep so take the lift). I think this was my favourite stay in Paris.
