Magnificent Palace hotel right on the beach in Biarritz. Best location in town, best food in town with Michelin starred and deserved food. New spa is excellent. When i last stayed here it was the one thing lacking and we had to go to another hotel for spa treatments. Now they have added their own and it is right up with the best and matches all the other hotel facilities. Try to book a room overlooking the sea. The best are the junior suites. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Biarritz.

Was nearly put off by some of the reviews here especially the comments about the hotel being unfriendly. I'm glad to report we found everything to be top notch. Its cost use ?332 pn to stay at the end of June - thats about ?100 dearer than the something like the radison sas. Beleive me the difference is worth it. One should realise the difference between 5 star and 4 star is huge. On top of that the Hotel du Palais offers something extra unique - all that history. If you could stay at Buckingham palace for ?330 would you consider that too expensive, or worth it for the experience. Prince Phillip - the queens hubbie stayed in the Hotel du Palais as did Gregory peck, France Sinatra, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton. For that extra bit of cash you get the absolute best location ever, access to a great spa, very professional massages, very friendly service, huge room - if you ask and a great outdoor pool area. One shouldn't be suprised about the price of ordering as these places are always dear but its worth remembering two things. 1. You dont have to order anything - no one will mind. 2. If you do order your cup off coffee for ?6.50 you are paying for the exquisite room you are privilaged to sit in while you drink it and the man playing the grand piano. I think its worth it. I should add that eating well for less than I am used to paying is easy to do elsewhere in Biarritz. its a lovely town with friendly people and a good vibe.
