Hotel Roxy Plaza - Soave, Italy 

The hotel is located in a small village of Soave in the Veneto region, just outside the old city walls. It has it's own parking which is free of charge and very handy if you are arriving by car. There is enough choice of bars and restaurants in the village and the prices are all reasonable. Rooms are large, modern and well fitted, with a large bathroom. The hotel is also quite reasonably priced, considering the 4-star rating and the relative proximity to Verona. We used it as our base for exploring the region for 3 days and found our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast is a bit lacking in choice, something that I would expect of a much lower rated hotel. I have even been to hostels that offered better breakfasts, but it's not the most important thing. Compared to the hotels I have seen in Verona and those on the outskirts, I feel really lucky that we ended up picking this one. If you have a car and are looking for a good base, then this is the right place for you!

This was a nice hotel, but unsure if it wanted to suit business travellers or tourists. We stayed one night and spent a day in Verona which was too touristy but still quite nice (if pricey). We got a suite which was very nicely furnished and the breakfast was good too, but the highlight is the town of Soave itself. A tiny medieval village which has family run trattorias where you can dine on fine food for a pittance. The castle and scenery are stunning, so make sure you get back from Verona in time to enjoy dinner and a walk around the town! I’d happily stay here again, maybe even using it as a base to visit Verona and Lake Garda.
