Aparthotel D'Or Jardin Playa - Santa Ponsa, Spain 

Hi everyone! I've only just returned home after a week long holiday in Santa Ponsa. We left on 2nd and returned on 9th June and I must say to anyone travelling with Jet2 you made a good choice, no problems at all with the flight out of Belfast or home again, checked in very quickly. It was a brilliant holiday, over too soon! The area is gorgeous, the views are amazing, the locals are really friendly and helpful (most people in shops etc spoke very good English) and there's is so much to do. There are so many bars and restaurants to choose from it would be impossible to get round them all!! Oh and the weather was gorgeous, high twenties everyday, very hot for the start of June! The hotel was first class, I got worried reading other reviews but had absolutely nothing to be weary of. Arrived at the hotel to be greeted by very friendly English speaking staff, checked in very quickly. Hotel is really clean and we were given fresh towels every 2 days and the room was cleaned at the same time. This was something some other people complained about but I honestly don't know why as the place was spottless! Rooms could be a bit more modern but the restaurant and bar area are very contemporary and clean and the bar staff and waiters were all lovely. I wouldn't go full board as you would be missing out on all the other lovely restaurants nearby, that would be a real shame! Good nightly entertainment at the hotel for children but not so good for the adults but then again Des Jardines is literally about a 2 minute walk away and the entertainment there was excellent for both adults and children. Hotel was a wee bit away from the beach (about a ten minute walk) but it's a lovely walk so we didn't mind, older people and those with kids might prefer to get a taxi which are only about 3 euro so really reasonable. Favourite pubs were the cocktail bar and Daniels Corner where all the cocktails were 2 for 6 euro brilliant value since they were all in pint glasses! This is the general trend really and you get free shots everywhere! Great place for Stag and Hen weekends but also great for couples and the place is very family orientated so the resort really caters for everyone well! Favourite restaurants were Kelly's and I can't remember the other's name but it catered equally for Spanish, German and English people and was very reasonable! Would recommend going to the Western Park (Water Park) in Magaluf (definately don't miss the sea lion show, it was great!) and hiring some quads for the day, both were great fun! The buses were good and the timetables very easy to follow would recommend using the bus to Magaluff as it only costs a couple of euro and is just as quick as a taxi. Taxi fare is 8 euro to Magaluf which is still good value. Well we're already planning to return to Santa Ponsa and possibly stay in the same hotel so really I think that says it all! To anyone already booked in you will have an absolute ball!

We stayed at the Jardin de Playa apartments for a week at the end of May 2008. The complex is clean and comfortable and is located near the square between Santa Ponsa and Costa de la Calma. The square has a good selection of bars and there is nightly open-air entertainment. On the positive side, the apartments are clean and there is a regular maid service with clean bedding, towels etc. There are spectacular views of the bay from all of the apartments with an excellent pool area. The complex has its own private access to the sea which is nice. There are good additional facilities such as an indoor pool, entertainments officer offering daytime games, internet access, volleyball court. Th only negative aspect is that the apartments can be very noisy. They have very very very thin walls, you can literally hear every word of a concersation in the next room, which can be annoying when your neighbours return from a night out at 5am!! Which may not be suitable for young families. All in all a decent place to stay!
