My wife and I recently stayed at Square in Brighton. The staff were generally friendly, and the room (a king) was of reasonable size with a nice bathroom. However, for what you get, it felt overpriced. Similarly priced hotels like Hotel du Vin which we have stayed in before offer more for your money. For example the breakfast on offer is only continental - you don't have the option of cooked. Irritatingly, our TV controller didn't work very well either. The view from our window was onto neighbouring houses, so not much privacy if blinds open, but even if blinds closed they didn't black out light well at night. These might sound petty points, but I don't expect to find these sorts of negative things when I am paying this much per night.
Pros - the bathroom was good with a spacious feel. The hotel was centrally located and near the seafront.
Cons - Overpriced. The blinds didn't black out the light very well.
