Le Grand Hotel Courmaison - Pre-Saint-Didier, Italy 

We stayed in Room 411 which is the double room advertised in the internet. Maybe because we stayed for 5 nights they gave us their best room. It is big with 2 balcony overlooking panamoric views of the mountain. It is a bit dark because it is chalet style but is very romantic. The bed is big and comfortable. Service is excellent, spa and foyer area very nice. My husband is Italian and he thinks the breakfast is great and dinner superb. It is worth having half board or at least some days. There are enough entertainment with a gym, big and nice swimming pool, game room and singer/pianoist in the evening so one shouldn´t be bored. The other rooms are smaller and Room 412 (next room) although have one window and balcony, it seems to be looking at the same panamonic views. The hotel location is excellent. There is also a shuttle service to take you to nearby place like Courmayeur town centre, Pre-Saint-Didier Terme (a famous wonderful newly reburishment thermae) and the ski stations. (They are all within 5 - 7 min drive). The staff speak good English which is sometimes rare in Italy. The only drawback in the summer daytime is that the hotel is near the main road, so if you open the windows, it might be a bit noisy. (Fortunately, the trucks use the other road so you won´t be affected and the hotel itself is in a very quiet and beautiful location). However, in the winter with the double glazing windows, you can´t hear anything. The summer evenings are cool so you should not be affected by the noise. You can also check if they are airconditioned. Inside the hotel, it is very quiet. We have a wonderful time there and I would highly recommended to anyone.
