We had traveled to Greece before but never to Santorini. We had heard that the Caldera side had spetacular views but that the other side of the island was flat and right on the beach. After seeing both we were glad that we chose the beach side wich was much more kid friendly. We were a family of 4...2 adults and two kids 7 and 10. The staff at the Boathouse could not have been more friendly and helpful. Everything from requesting an extra cot in the evening hour to booking our tours. The cleaning staff and everyone were so friendly. The rate was awesome and with a GREAT breakfast every morning included. It was so nice to wake up and have breakfast poolside.....everything was fresh. The beach is 50-100 yards from the pool and restaurants galore lined the boardwalk.....everything was right there. A 5 min walk brought you to the bus stop where you could hop on the bus to Fera (Downtown) and be there is 15 minutes.....it was so convenient. If I were a couple I think I would stay on the caldera side with the views. Beware if you try and book it with kids under 14...they discourage kids under this age because of the danger (cliffs). I would definitely stay at the Boathouse again. If you go there say Hi to Diane. Everyone speaks English.

This was our 2nd visit to The Boathouse. 4 of us went last year and loved it so much we brought an additional couple with us and the result was that they loved it just as much as us. This is a place where you relax in from the minute you get there and that's all due to the wonderful welcome received from owners Spyros & Diane and the lovely Angie. We had an upstairs sea view room which was very spacious with a lovely pretty balcony overlooking the pool area. Breakfast is good too, bacon, eggs, cheese and bread but best of all a big bowl of fresh fruit with greek yoghurt. We met some smashing people and it was lovely to meet at the pool bar in the evening and discuss what we had done during the day. Plenty of restaurants to choose from along the beach road. I honestly can't imagine anybody not loving this place. Hotel is right on th beach and just a few minutes away from the main stretch which adds to the beauty of the hotel. Can't wait to return.
