Just returned from 10 days half board stay at the hotel. The main plus points are that it's beach front and convenient for a variety of nearby bars and restaurants. The weather was fantastic. Our accommodation was small and basic but clean and adequate. The pool area was quite large but rammed full of sun beds with little space between you and the next person. We expected it to be reasonably quiet in June but it was noisy and chaotic. You'll need to be up early with your towel to secure the best beds! But you can escape to the beach and hire a sunbed (3.5 euros pp per day); it's much more peaceful there. The beach itself is a mix of sand/shingle and pebble and got unbearably hot in the middle of the day. The water was a little rough and gets deep quite quickly; you're out of your depth within a few steps. The hotel restaurant served pretty much the same food every evening and morning. The food was acceptable but they didn't offer much in the way of fish or fresh fruit and overall it lacked variety. The food was probably the biggest single disappointment. The reception staff were helpful and friendly but that wasn't the case throughout the hotel. The restaurant "waiting" and the bar staff weren't very welcoming and at times we felt like an inconvenience. But it didn't spoil our enjoyment. If you want to try to somewhere different to eat/drink, try Cafe del Mar on the beach front. Friendly and welcoming staff who appreciate your custom. Also the Colosismo (I think its called) across the road from the hotel. They have a 2 for 1 happy hour every night which seems to go on and on... All in all, an ok holiday but I wouldn't rush back. If I did return, I'd be very careful choosing the dates. One final thing is the flies! There were quite a few around the pool and beach.

Stayed at this hotel in may. Having read most of the reviews on Trip advisor liked what I read ! We booked the holiday through Mytravel seven nights half-board for two in a Superior Double room. When we arrived we thought we had a sea view we did not so we up graded worth paying the extra, the food was good to say the least even my partner is a very fuss eater and he was very impressed by the choice of food, . There was always some thing on in the lounge in the evening, we did not go in there but was well used by many of the guests I am in my early fifty‘s and my partner is six years younger and I must admit we were one of the younger couples there this by no means spoilt our holiday. We did use the happy hours on a evening there are two in the evening 1700 - 1800 and 2000 - 2100, The drinks in the hotel were cheaper than in the local bars I drank bottled cider and that was in the happy hour .Did not use the pool but loads of sun beds. when you come out of the back entrance you were on the promenaded which seemed to go for miles which was a very enjoyable walk in either direction The location of the Sabinal was great. Did go to Grand Plaza Shopping Centre about 15 mins away, on the bus, personal I did not rate it, I was expecting some thing better. Went to the aquarium, that was nice only thing was did not time the bus right so had to wait quite awhile for next bus. Went on the glass bottom boat that consisted of a little square in the middle of the boat that when you looked down you could not see any thing, but the boat trip was nice, went to the ice cream parlour across the road from the hotel got a gorgeous ice cream. most of the bars we went into if we bought a alcoholic drink we were given a free tapas. Could not fault this hotel would go back there again
