There were 13 of us away for a hen weekend and we picked the City Club hotel through Easyjet. We didnt have high expectations of the hotel because the price we paid was below ?100 for 2 nights, which included flights aswell.
We were totally surprised with the quality of the rooms, especially the cleanliness. Top marks for the modern bathroom which were very spacious and clean.
The walk to Wencelas Square (which is actually a huge street with tons of traffic) is downhill and takes between 15 to 20 mins depending on how fast you walk. The underground is very very cheap and there is a stop nearby. Failing that we paid between 80 - 200 for a taxi (about ?2.50 to ?6.50) so you need alot of negotiating for that! Wencelas square is approx 2km to the hotel.
The breakfast was basic, but hey, there are plenty of places to grab food out, which was again very reasonable. There is so much to see and do there, and also shop! None of us spent more than ?100 each in spending money, and we were out all day and night, so it is ideal for a great weekend away.
We met lots of friendly people, however they were not Czech! It is true to say that their manners leave a little to be desired, especially taxi drivers, but dont let it spoil your trip, just laugh at them!
You will not be disappointed with this hotel, 2 of us have loved it so much that we are going back again in August with our husbands.

Just back from the city club. found the hotel to be basic but good value for money can't fault reception staff as they were very helpful in anything asked of them. Hotel was always kept clean.
i.p pavlova metro station 5 minute walk away and the whole city is in reach. 100 crowns (about ?3) will get you a 24 hour ticket for unlimited travel on the metro, trams and buses. can't beat it excellant value for money
only downside was the groups of schoolkids raiding all the breakfast things to make packed lunches leaving not very much for everyone else, the staff did do their best to keep everything topped up.
If you want to do a tour stay well away from martin tours as their staff are very rude and extremely unhelpful. we did a river tour with them and the german guide on board made us feel like a bunch of schoolkids being told to sit down, and no talking and only listening to him.
Will definately be back to prague as the tour did not put us off, would stay at the city club again but will certainly not be using martin tours.
