This is a terrific little hotel near the Gare de L'est and Gare du Nord. Very simple, lovely, comfortable and clean rooms. Firm beds, nice bathrooms. The staff is incredible. The host when I was here accommodated my every request and was extremely nice and helpful. Nice tapas bar next door, Place de la Republic just around the corner, easy walk to the Marais. Yes, the stairs are dark (as another reviewer said) but you can turn the lights on at each landing.
