We stayed here for 2 nights in late May for 2 nights before moving on to a villa. The room we had had a partial sea view and was very well presented and spotlessly clean. We then had a week in a villa and returned to the hotel for 1 night. The second room we stayed in was even better. It did not have a sea view but appeared to have been refurbished with walk in shower and again very very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel, it's just a nice walk into the centre of Mahon although there alot of steps down to the harbour and again back up. The friendliness and professionalism of the hotel staff was faultless and the breakfasts were lovely and plentiful. Will definitely return but think I would be prepared to pay extra for a sea view which was wonderful.

Our stay at the Port Mahon was very pleasant. We had a room that had been refurbished and had a balcony and was sea facing. The views from our room were quite spectacular and full of ever changing interest as shipping of all types moved to and from the harbour. Because it was October the hotel was not very busy and that meant that there were always sunbeds available by the pool. Minorca is a very pleasant place to visit. It is much smaller and greener than Majorca and no doubt quieter as well! We visited Ciutadella and thought it full of character as well as Fornells which was delightful. We had our breakfasts in the hotel and did not have any problems in finding good restaurants in which to dine each evening. Most of these were on the waterfront at the bottom of the steps just across the road from the hotel. We walked into town on many occasions and found the nicest route was to go along the cliff top (right at the bottom of the steps leading to main entrance of the hotel and then almost immediately left). Alternatively you can go down to the waterfront and walk along at sea level or turn left at the bottom of the hotel steps and then weave your way through the residential area. The Port Mahon is a very gracious old lady of a hotel and I would not hesitate to stay there again should we ever return to the island.
